Hi guys, so since one of my new years resolutions is to be more organised and productive, I thought that today I would share some general tips that you can use to be more organised and more productive in the new year. I find these tips really helpful so I thought I would share them with you. I hope that you enjoy and without further ado let’s get started!
Make Your Bed As Soon As You Get Up
This one seems a little bit weird but if you make your bed as soon as you wake up it means that you don’t feel like crawling into bed again which helps you be that little bit more productive. Also if you make your bed as soon as you get up, you will feel like you have accomplished something already which gets you motivated to do other tasks as soon as you wake up. The last reason that this is good is because it makes your room tidier and if you do any work in your bedroom, then you will have better working environments because whenever I have work to do on my desk, I do my work a lot better if my room is tidy because it clears out my mind and let’s me focus on the work.
Take It Out, Put It Back Rule
This one is to help you stay organised and it is that if you take out something such as a book, pencil, folder etc, you put it back as soon as you are done with it and I try to do this as much as possible mainly on my desk because normally if I don’t do this then my desk ends up looking like an absolute tip and I can’t concentrate at all but if I put things back as soon as I am done with them, it helps my room and desk stay more organised. This one also helps with productivity because as I told you before, I can only concentrate in a tidy working space so this is perfect for me. This is because on my desk, everything has it’s place
Keep A Planner
I am sure I have emphasized this on my blog before but I can not tell you in words how helpful my planner is. I take it with me to most places that I go so that I can record when I have some work due or when I have to meet up with a friend which is really helpful because it means that I never miss deadlines. Since I am obsessed with things like sharpies and highlighters, my blog looks like a rainbow exploded on it but you can color code your planner however you like or you just don’t have to color code it at all but I just find that color coding my planner helps me to separate it into different sections and it also makes it look better in my opinion.
Work In Bursts Of Time
This one is a tip that lots of people I know swear by because it is so helpful and it helps you stay a lot more productive. I know some people swear by working for 25-30 minutes and then taking a short break but some people work for 1 hour and then take a longer break. Normally, I tend to work for 30 minutes and then take a 10 minute break and then start working again because I feel like it suits me better but the overall reason that this is good is because you don’t overwork your mind and you can refresh it in your breaks and when you do 30 minutes of work with no distractions, it feels like you get a lot more done. Normally, I just use the timer on my phone to time this to exactly half an hour and ten minute break because then I know I’m not going to procrastinate and take an extra 5-10 minute break.
I hope that you guys enjoyed and found this useful and I will see you next time with another blog post. Bye!
